Breatfeeding / Pumping at work...?

I had such a hard time pumping at work, I totally get it. I was so worried about doing it fast enough, what was going on in the office, etc. I would agree with the posters so far about relaxing, bringing pictures, drinking enough water. I also found that the Avent hand pump worked better for me than the electric spendy one. Also, give yourself credit for what you are producing! 3 oz. is way more than I could ever get. I found my guys would just make up for it when I got home. They say that even if you end up having to supplement with formula, the benefits of the baby getting at least 50% breast milk are the same.

Does drinking enough water help you lose weight, or is it just to be healthy?

Lots of answers with no founding behind it. Water does not "clean" or "purge" your system. Your system is not a sieve. Its not how your kidneys work, they take everything out and only bring the good stuff back in, which means if you force more water through it you are stressing them and not helping. Read more on the kidney and how it clears your blood for more information. You do not need to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. You drink when you are thirsty, your body knows when it needs water, for some extra information read about the hypothalamus and thirst, its an interesting read for the biology inclined. Hot water does not melt fat, that's ridiculous. Fat does not work like that, its not like there is liquid or semi-solid lard just floating around, its stored in cells and is used when your body needs energy and has no other easier sources (carbohydrates and fats in the stomach) to get it from. If you are drinking lots of sugary drinks, just switching over to water will make you lose weight as you are not taking in those calories from the sugary drinks, just be careful not to eat more to compensate for that loss. Even if you do eat more to compensate for the loss of calories, you will still be healthier (though you wo not lose weight) because you are not taking in some of the really nasty crap that's in a lot of pop, like phosphoric acid in cola, that stuff is gut rot. The cold water thing is true, it does require some calories to warm the water up to body temperature, but if it hurts your teeth it is not worth it, drinking 2L of 4 degree Celsius (39F for you Americans) burns approximately 66 calories, and that's very cold water. Regardless, drink water, its better for you, do not force it into your system though, drink when thirsty.

It was i call a "Water work-out" drink water throughout the day and before ur workout. dont go all crazy like drink a gallon rite before. but u should drink water that is normally room tempature, not cold and u may ask why. . well if u drink water that is cool it cools the muscles in ur body and takes it longer for ur muscles to warm up i guess u can say so drink water at room temperature. being that ur body is made up of 85% water or soemthing in that range when ur body is filled with water and u do a workout ur muscles expand more and feel ALOT bigger also it gives u more energy during ur workout. also DURING ur workout try to drink a lil water after every rep u may do. . not a lot just a sip or 2 ur muscles will continue to grow and increase in strength. i know this from personal experience u tone up ALOT faster and ur workouts are about 5 times as effective whatever u may do from bench, curls, skull crushers, to leg press, military it will continue to help u. my advice to help out with forearms and shoulders is strictly bench, curls, freeweights, skullcrushers shoulder shrugs and pull-ups. . it works like a charm and if u drink enough water before ur workout ur arms will feel like there gonna explode during ur workout i kid u not. like i said 6 or 7 hours before or just drink lots of water throughout ur day and durin ur workout and ull be amazed at the results
